Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WebHarmonium handles information when you use the public site at webharmonium.vip, play the browser instrument, or contact the project team.
1) Scope of this policy
This policy applies to:
- The public marketing site and homepage instrument
- The browser-based harmonium keyboard and its controls
- Support, privacy, and legal inquiries sent to the published contact addresses
It does not automatically cover third-party sites or services you may visit from links outside the WebHarmonium domain.
2) How the instrument works
WebHarmonium is designed so the playable instrument runs locally in your browser. Audio playback is generated with browser capabilities such as the Web Audio API, and compatible MIDI controllers are accessed through browser permission flows when available.
The intent is to minimize unnecessary data collection during normal use of the instrument.
3) Information we may receive
Depending on how you use the site, WebHarmonium may receive or process the following categories of information:
A. Information you provide directly
If you send an email to a published contact address, we may receive:
- Your name or display name
- Your email address
- The content of your message
- Any attachments, screenshots, or technical details you choose to include
B. Technical request data
Like most websites, the hosting stack may receive routine technical request information such as:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device and operating system information
- Requested URLs
- Basic timestamp and request log data
This information is generally used for delivery, security, and troubleshooting.
C. Local browser behavior
When you use the instrument:
- Audio playback happens in your browser
- MIDI access depends on browser-level permission
- Any short-term interface state is handled by the client-side application
WebHarmonium is not intended to require an account before you can play the instrument.
4) How we use information
Information may be used to:
- Deliver the site and browser instrument
- Diagnose bugs, abuse, or service issues
- Respond to support, privacy, or legal requests
- Improve stability, compatibility, and usability
- Protect the service, users, and project infrastructure
WebHarmonium does not state that personal information is sold to data brokers or used for unrelated profiling.
5) Cookies, storage, and browser permissions
WebHarmonium may rely on normal browser functionality to remember interface state or operate the instrument correctly. Depending on implementation, this can include basic browser storage or permission prompts.
Examples may include:
- Theme or UI preference storage
- Temporary instrument state in the browser
- MIDI permission prompts handled by the browser
If new analytics, advertising, account, or personalization systems are added later, this policy should be updated to match the actual implementation before launch.
6) Sharing of information
Information may be shared only when reasonably necessary for site operation, such as:
- Hosting and delivery providers
- Security or abuse-prevention providers
- Professional advisers where required
- Law enforcement or regulators when legally required
WebHarmonium does not describe broad resale of personal information for unrelated commercial use.
7) Data retention
Retention depends on the type of information involved:
- Routine request logs may be retained for operations and security for a limited period
- Support or legal correspondence may be retained as long as needed to resolve the matter and maintain relevant records
- Locally generated playback behavior remains primarily on your device unless you separately send information to us
8) Your choices
You may choose to:
- Use the public pages without sending an email inquiry
- Decline to connect a MIDI controller
- Limit the information you include in support messages
- Ask questions about the information associated with your direct correspondence
If you want to raise a privacy request, contact the privacy address below.
9) Children
WebHarmonium is a general audience music tool and is not presented as a service intentionally directed to children under the age required by applicable law for independent consent in their jurisdiction.
10) International access
WebHarmonium may be accessed from different countries. By using the service, you understand that information may be processed in the jurisdictions where hosting, support, or service providers operate.
